SUMMER LESSON PROGRAM

A HORSE LOVER'S DREAM

Do you have a child, grandchild, niece, nephew, or other special youngster who has been bitten by the horse bug? Have you been looking for an activity packed and truly horse-centered day program for that child? Are you seeking a fun, healthy alternative to your child spending his or her summer vacation in front of the computer/TV screen?  Our summer students spend four action-packed days immersed in the world of horses. They will enjoy riding, grooming, bathing, and caring for horses, in addition to making friends and memories!

BEGINNERS WELCOME

Our summer program is ideal for first time riders, but engaging enough for campers with riding experience.  Students gain exposure to equine anatomy, tack, nutrition, and first aid, and are often treated to visits with special guests, such as our farrier, professional horse trainers, and more, in kid friendly Q & A lectures.  Our students also enjoy lunches, games and other activities in the beautiful setting of Irvine Regional Park.  Our fun-filled days (9:00 am to 2:30pm) are designed to make an educational experience with lasting memories for each and every rider.

LEARNING ABOUT HORSES

At the Country Trails Summer Program, students spend one incredibly special week exploring the world of horses. Each day, students learn to groom, saddle, mount and ride their own horse (assigned to them for the week). During their riding lessons, students practice balance and strengthening activities, learn to walk, trot, and canter (based on ability and experience) and play games on horseback.  Students learn cues to communicate with their horses, both when mounted and when handling their horses on the ground.
