How much does it cost?Our 1 hour trail ride costs $80 per rider and our 2 hour trail ride costs $180 per rider. There is a 15% nonrefundable deposit required to book a trail ride online. Our lesson program costs $310 per month, for one lesson per week. (Months with five weeks are priced at $387.50). All lessons are sold in a package and we do not offer single, standalone lessons at this time. Our summer lesson program costs $750/week with a $375 non-refundable deposit. We are currently only able to accept cash and checks.

When should I show up for my trail ride?Please plan on arriving to Irvine Regional Park at least one hour before your scheduled ride time. Irvine Regional Park is incredibly popular, and the line to get inside can take over an hour on weekends, holidays, and during seasonal events offered by other vendors in the park. You and your party should check in with our front office at least 30 minutes before your ride time so we can get you checked in. If running late, please call our front office at (714) 538-5860.

Where are you located? Do you have directions?We are located inside Irvine Regional Park, across from parking lot #5. Directions after entering the park: - Once through the park entrance, continue straight. - Follow the signs that read “Horse Rentals.” - Pass the first parking area (lot #6) on right, and turn right immediately after lot #6. - Park in the next parking area (lot #5), which will be on the right, Country Trails will be on the left. - Our office is a brown, barn-style building with a large sign that reads “Rental Horses” - Enter through the gate to the right of this sign. - Check in at the window for first day to fill out paperwork and sign in for your trail ride or lesson.

What is the park entry fee for Irvine Regional Park?Parking fees: $3 per vehicle entry Monday - Friday $5 Saturday - Sunday $7 for holidays and events More information on parking fees is available at OC Parks.

What should I wear or bring for my trail ride or lesson?We recommend wearing long pants and closed-toe shoes with a small heel. Avoid loose clothing that may get caught on equipment. Helmets are provided and required for all riders. Bring a water bottle, sunscreen, and a positive attitude! Riders are welcome to store personal belongings such as purses or backpacks in our secured office for the duration of their ride.

I've never ridden a horse before. Is that okay?We're so excited you've chosen us for your first horseback ride! All of our horses are seasoned experts and beginner safe. When you arrive, our instructors will guide you through the basics of riding to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for riders of all levels. Ask questions if you have them!

Are your horses suitable for beginners?Yes, we have a variety of well-trained horses suitable for riders of all levels, including beginners. Our horses are gentle, patient, and accustomed to working with new riders.

What safety measures do you have in place?Safety is our top priority. All riders are provided with helmets and are given safety instructions before mounting. Our staff regularly inspect and maintain our equipment and trails to ensure a safe riding environment.

Do you offer riding lessons?Yes, we offer riding lessons for riders of all levels, from beginners to advanced. Our experienced instructors will work with you to improve your riding skills and build your confidence in the saddle.

How long are your trail rides?We offer both 1 hour and 2 hour rides. All of our rides are walking only.

What happens if it rains?Trail rides are rescheduled when weather conditions pose a safety risk. In the event of inclement weather, we will contact your party to reschedule your ride for a later date. If you are part of our lesson program, you are encouraged to participate in our "Rainy Day Lesson" option. In these lessons, students learn the fundamentals of proper horse care and on the ground horsemanship.

Can I bring my own horse for trail rides?Unfortunately, we do not allow outside horses for trail rides. Our trail horses are carefully selected and trained to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all riders.

Are there any requirements in order to ride?For safety purposes, riders must be a minimum of 8 years old, under 200 pounds, and not pregnant. All riders must wear a helmet during their trail ride or lesson (helmets are available on site).

Are there other attractions at Irvine Regional Park?Yes! Irvine Regional Park boasts multiple family centered, fun attractions and activities that you can enjoy before or after your ride with us. Attractions include the Irvine Park Railroad, Wheel Fun Rentals (bike rentals and paddle boat rentals), the Orange County Zoo, and more.
